...and then there are those evil people

I've been looking at how we (I) respond to God and the consequences if we ignore Him (see Famine and Fasting). On the other hand, we just might hear Him very clearly and run the other way. We don't always respond to God... and then there are those evil people; those horrible Ninevites who have killed thousands; the people who have no respect for life; the ones who destroy entire cities; the filthy beasts who invade homes and slaughter everyone there; those suicide bombers that shatter everything that's precious; those ISIS kids who want nothing more than to see us dead. Jonah was right. They deserve what they get.

They deserve what they get... including grace when they repent? Who is beyond grace? This is not a statement about any war efforts. This is a statement about the attitude I've seen in my own heart and, given the Facebook posts I've read, the hearts of many. We want retaliation. God is calling him to a relationship. He's patiently waiting for her. Yes, that one... and that one... and that one...

I do fear for the lives of those trapped in the cities where ISIS is doling out death as hard and fast as possible. Be safe, dear families. May God provide you and your little ones refuge. I pray that you will be delivered from the terror under which you live. I also pray that the ISIS fighters will come to Christ. How safe would that be?

Oh, God, move in the Middle East. Shatter the ISIS fighters' world with truth. Bring everyone in that region to the safety of a relationship with You.
